MATHIS OLLIER
Game Design student
I am currently a UQAC student planning to become a Game Designer! I am passionate about technology, Internet security — particularly side-channel attacks — project management, and travel. My goal is to continue expanding my expertise across diverse domains, from team management to video game development.
Main Projects
Game designer, level designer and light designer of a three-person team
Level designer of a three-person team
Game designer, systems designer, level designer, and sound designer of a two-person team
Level Design — Methodology
Unit Test Map
I isolate each gameplay mechanic to validate it in a minimalistic environment, understand it deeply, and measure its limits and parameters.
Workshop LD — Synergies
This is the fun phase where I test multiple synergies between different features. I try to create as many as possible within a limited time.
Blocking
I establish the main level volumes and circulation routes, prioritizing guiding the player without ambiguity and ensuring an entertaining flow.
Texture application
Just like painting, I apply materials according to a consistent visual framework, making sure every surface contributes to gameplay (clarity, visual cues, contrast).”
Polish
In the final stage, I polish each element—lighting, textures, sound feedback, and decorative prop placement—to deliver a seamless, immersive experience.
